Expedition Classroom
We believe in real-world, experiential learning. That’s why Apparent Winds created Expedition Classroom, our remote education program that directly connects students with the Apparent Winds Expedition.
Expedition Classroom lets students follow SV Resilience’s global journey via our interactive GIS map as well as direct communication between our crew and students in the classroom. Our map contains educational videos, data, curriculum, and other engaging media. While underway, students can ask the crew questions about culture, science, environment, and life aboard.
Our goal is to allow students to not just be observers, but be a part of the expedition using a platform that combines geography, ocean data, and exciting storytelling; utilizing Resilience as their classroom from anywhere in the world.

Interactive Experiences with the Expedition
- Correspondence: Students have the opportunity to send written or video questions for our crew to answer and exchange insights. These education-specific videos create an engaging exchange for all. They not only enable direct communication with Resilience but also allow students from various parts of the world to hear from each other.
- In-person connection: As Resilience travels around the world, Apparent Winds can provide students with in-person educational resources and experiences. In addition, students have the opportunity to share their culture and the natural environment surrounding their homes with our crew. These experiences can be shared and include an exchange with students worldwide.
- Live connection: We offer scheduled live calls with classrooms have the opportunity connect live with our crew aboard Resilience to share ideas and ask questions.
